Privacy Policy

The data we collect and use:

  • Your name, address, phone number and email address so we can contact you to begin our eligibility assessment;

  • Proof of identity which we will send to you over email or text message and ask you to sign the data consent form digitally to enable us to cross check your eligibility with the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) or your relevant local authority;

  • A document to show proof of benefits supplied to you by the DWP and HMRC; you can delete any irrelevant information on this paperwork before sending it to us;

  • In certain cases; the nature of your right to occupy the premises;

  • In certain cases we will also need your date of birth and will explain why if we need this information.

Use of your data

Under the following GDPR guidelines 2018 ‘lawful bases’, we use your data;

(a) With your Consent: In order to find out if you qualify for grants to help with / cover the cost of your energy efficient installation;

(b) Under Contract: the processing is necessary to do preliminary assessment before entering into a contract;

 (f) And with your Legitimate interests: the processing is necessary for us, ECS Ltd, to check your eligibility with the third party (Energy Saving Trust, OFGEM, HMRC, Local Authority)

Sharing your data

In order to fulfil our duties to install your energy efficient measure we will share your personal data with:

  • The DWP to determine your eligibility status. Or, with your permission (if you aren’t eligible through being in receipt of State Benefits) submit a flexible eligibility proposal to your Local Authority;

  • OFGEM, through the Energy Saving Trust, in order to share your data with auditors contracted to confirm your installation meets the required standards and is in accordance with the requirements of the scheme;

  • The Department of Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy to analyse uptake of the scheme and where appropriate, to make improvements to the ECO Scheme.

(ECO) Your information is not used:

  • to make automatic decisions, ie decisions made solely by automated means without any human involvement;

  • or for profiling, ie automated processing of personal data to evaluate certain things about an individual eg direct marketing.

Data access or amendment

Under UK law you have the rights to:

  • A copy of any personal data we hold

  • Confirmation that we are processing and information about how we are using it

  • Have your data amended

  • Have your data deleted, in certain circumstances

  • Have your data processing restricted

When agreeing to our privacy policy, you understand that when submitting our contact form, request a callback form, and application form, that we will contact you using the details provided in the form. e.g. Name, Telephone Number and Email address.
